Am I able to have driving lessons in my own/family or friends car?

It is recommended to take lessons in the school’s vehicle.  This vehicle has an additional brake accessible to the instructor, should there be a need for it.  Additionally, this vehicle is specially insured with some coverage for the other vehicle , should a permit-holder be found liable in the event of an accident.  Hence, it is preferred to have lessons executed in the schools vehicle.

What are your operational Hours?

We are flexible we can start lessons as early as 6 a.m.  in the mornings to accommodate hectic schedules. We can schedule a class as late as 7:00 p.m.during clocks operation in standard time, when it gets dark around 5:30 p.m.; during this time our last class is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.  We schedule classes at night to accommodate students who wishes to have training using lights and driving at night.  Additionally, we can schedule classes during rainy weather for the student who wishes to undergo training in different weather condtions.

Do you work on Sundays?

Yes we work on Sundays.

Do you offer pick up and drop off services

Yes we offer pick up and drop off.

What is the cost of your driving lessons per hour?

$ 30.00 per hour

Can I use your vehicle for a test?

Yes we offer concierge services for the test.

Can I start driving lessons with your school without a Learners Permit?

The Law requires all students to possess a learners permit, and our insurance does not support individuals without a learners permit.

When should I apply for a test date, once I get my Learners Permit?

Once you received your Leaners Permit and have started classes speak with your instructor, about getting a test date.

Are automatic cars easier to drive?

Manual or standard shift vehicles with gear boxes and clutches requires engagement, attention and control over the gears.  Hence, in rush traffic hour or heavy traffic it can be tiresome to drive.  In addition, a driver is required to balance the gas pedal and clutch pedals to stop on hills and use precise controls to take off on hills or elevations,  Hence, the majority of drivers prefer driving an automatic vehicle versus a manual one, but it all depends on the individual. Although, this is subjective, it may be more feasible for an individual to learn how to drive an automatic vehicle effectively and once mastered, it is recommended that manual or standard shift lessons be sought.

How do I book my driving test?

Once you’ve obtained a Learners Permit, you can visit the Road Traffic Department, Exam Section to apply for a Practical Driving Test date.  Another  option, is to ask Munroe’s Driving School to make the application for your Practical Exam on your behalf.  The School would be delighted to do so.

How many lessons will I need to learn to drive?

Learning any new skill is as unique as one’s finger print from individual to individual. Moreover, learning to drive differ from person to person. Everyone learns at different rates. Hence, the number of lessons an individual would need to learn to drive would definitely vary from individual to individual.  Just look at the literature regarding learning to drive from various countries, some  list varying amounts of recommended hours.  Some articles recommend 45 hours with an instructor, and 22 hours practicing on your own at home, others recommend a minimum of 20 hours and the time period goes on and on.  However, Munroe’s Driving School have observed that many persons once taking lessons with an instructor and practicing at home after consistently and consecutively, one can ;learn to drive, effectively between 12- 20 hours.  These hours includes mock or practice exam routes and techniques, required at the driving range.

Should I learn to drive in an automatic or manual car?

That depends on the individual.  This is subjective and may vary from person to person.  However, it is observed that due to the level of precision and engagement a manual or standard shift vehicle requires when driving it is recommended that individuals learn how to drive an automatic vehicle prior to learning to drive a manual or standard shift vehicle.
